Esslinger Burg

Henry was kind enough to give us a walking tour of one of his favorite old towns - Esslinger Burg. As we had to play his team that night I think there was more to this walking tour than he was letting on.

The architecture was always impressive.

Henry explained that the homes were taxed based on the square footage of their main floor. Many of the buildings had larger second and third floors to minimize the taxes.

And then some of the buildings were just really old.

This is a most unique clock, it has 4 hands and when all 4 hands are aligned it signifies a solar eclipse.
